Background

Painter, who studied at Glasgow School of Art 1936-40 and at Hospitalfield School of Art during 1941. She executed murals for Glasgow Corporation in the YWCA.

Background

Fought in the September Campaign in the 10th  Motorized Cavalry Brigade commanded by Colonel Stanisław Maczek.  After the Soviet invasion of Poland, Haupt fled to Hungary and later to France. He was evacuated to England. He served in the Polish army until 1946.  Emigrated to USA.
